1. SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO) TRENDS
More businesses will use SEO to boost search traffic – 88% of SEO marketers will increase/ maintain their investment:
- More than one-half of SEO marketers will optimize videos and images, saying this is their most effective SEO tactic.
- One in four SEO marketers leverage historical optimization – keeping content up to date and engaging, repurposing existing content, etc.
2. MOBILE TRENDS
Mobile optimization will be even more important as more than one-half of annual online traffic comes from mobile devices*:
- One-third of global marketers invest in mobile web design.
- Almost two-thirds of SEO marketers call mobile optimization an effective investment.
3. CONTENT MARKETING TRENDS
Almost one-half of consumers view three to five pieces of content prior to engaging with a company, and the majority of them expect brands to create content to gain their interest*:
- Marketers plan to invest in short-form video more than any other trend and 90% of them will increase/maintain their investment.
- Almost one-half of content marketers invest in infographics and more than one-half say infographics are their most effective content type.
4. SOCIAL MEDIA TRENDS
Social media remains popular – more than three-quarters of people have some type of account**:
- Most marketers will focus on three to five social media platforms; on average, marketers leverage four social media platforms.
- Using social media as a customer service tool continues to grow.
